Welcome to Resolute!

This is an incredible community of writers and roleplayers that have come together to play-act some of the greatest stories Star Wars will ever see! We are a SW5e asynchronous play by post discord community playing in a loose West Marches style.

We offer opportunities to adventure and roleplay in the Star Wars universe, incorporating a mix of primarily Legends and a sprinkle of Disney Canon content into our setting of 347 ABY, in the throes of a new Galactic Dark Age with a fractured Alliance and enemies around every corner.

This site is an easy-to-reference combination of the Star Wars 5e ruleset and the changes we've made to better support our style of play. Please read carefully, as some things you're used to from the base rules may have changed!

Frequently Asked Questions

This list is not all-encompassing - if what you're looking for isn't here, feel free to pop into 🧙︱lore-questions or 🔧︱game-mechanics for assistance!

Q: Avrae - How do I...?
A: FadedPhoenix made a wonderful Avrae guideline doc that includes a lot of the custom features that the Admin team has taken up maintaining. It can be found here: Avrae Guide.

Additional aliases and snippets are always in the process of being made - if you have an automation request, check in Avrae Automation Help for assistance!

Q: Why is X thing not allowed?
A: The things we've made changes to or removed are typically as a result of their mechanical strength not being a good fit for our server, their status in the lore at the time of play, or because they are problematic - in either the way they are meant to be played, or how players typically play them.

Q: How do I RP as my character?
A: Mechanically, this is done using the >say command. It will default to the first character you've made, so if you want to use a different character you will need to use overrides set by the /settings command to pick who you want to use in what channel.

It's important to use this command so you get credit for the RP Activity Points tracking!

Q: How do I earn Renown?
A: Renown is earned by participating in and completing Shatterpoints, Personal Missions, and Adventures. The amount you earn from any activity is determined by the admins.

Q: My force powers won't work!
A: Don't use !cast in combat. Use !power, as it automatically deducts from your Tech Points or Force Points, and should automatically use the correct stat for the power you've selected.

Q: How do I become a Game Master?
A: To become a Game Master, you must do two things. First, become a Simulator Master by submitting a ModMail and run either Combat or Narrative Arenas for the server to practice running Avrae combat. Second, you must run and complete a Personal Mission. You can learn how to do that in the Adventure Guide.

Once you have run a few Combat or Narrative Arenas and completed a Personal Mission without incident, you can submit another ModMail to request the Game Master tag.

Q: What do the colors on the Galaxy Map represent?
A: The colors on the map represent the major factions in the galaxy in our setting, with some available to players and others unavailable. The colors and their holdings may shift as time goes on. In no particular order:
